Join us for “Farm to Future,” a culinary competition to help bring back local food, one farmer at a time.
Family farmers used to be the backbone of America. Over the years, automation, industrialization, and urbanization forced many to abandon their fields.
But thanks to the farm-to-table culinary movement, a new generation of local farmers is cropping up to raise clean, local produce and livestock.
Farm to Future features Jacksonville’s top chefs competing to create delicious dishes using fresh ingredients from local farms throughout Northeast Florida. Patrons help decide the winning chefs in several categories, including Best Appetizer, Best Entrée, Best Dessert, Best Chef/Farm Partnership, Fan Favorite and more.
The event will feature chef-designed plates with beers from local favorite Engine 15 Brewing Company. Bid on guilty pleasures and holiday gifts at the silent auction, and peruse the latest issue of Edible Northeast Florida, Farm To Future’s media partner.
Profits from Farm to Future will benefit the nonprofit Center for Sustainable Agricultural Excellence and Conservation (CSAEC), which teaches the farmers of tomorrow how to grow better, less expensive, locally grown produce — all while protecting the environment and earning a living.
